update: 27.04.2014- new versions, other plugins

 I cannot believe it has been 5 years since the plugins emerged onto this world. Since then, many new versions have been released and many bugs have been fixed.

04.09.2009 How has it all started ?

Some time at the beginning of this year, I could not stand it any more, and was hungring to have more comfortable work with speccy files on PC, than using a command line. I was glamoured by the glance of glittering TRD and SCL Total Commander plugggggins, that can process TRD and SCL images. It was my dream to have the same comfort for MB02+, so I contacted a person called Eugene Larchenko and plainly asked him, wether he could be able to do the same for MB02+. Eugene agreed, and after first timid attempts, a true piece of work, which we are opening to the public today, has started to emerge. Surprisingly, all those twelve months filled with the work, enhancing and improving its functions, survived successfuly until today, the project is still going on, until it is finally in a phase to be unashamedly released for usage.

These are the reasons for which we are now bringing this TC plugin forward. It is a plugin, that extends TC possibilities and allows to handle MBD and TAP plugins as archives. It was a primary target to create the user comfortable program and not to be TC bugs, the target would have been achieved. The plugin can browse among directories, delete and add files.

At the same time, it was neccessary for practical reasons, to create a second plugin, that is handling the similar way also TAP files. Ie. opens a TAP, allows to add or delete files from it. Both plugins obviously, conform to a 17 byte tape header of files, no information about files are lost. Further information about both plugins are to be found on this page, mainly in the FAQ.

We have had a tremendous luck, that the author was exceptionally cooperative, and I would love to thank him very much for his time and patience, him above all. Any donations for the author as a plugin support are most welcomed. In that case, please, contact me. Further big thanks go to (who else than...) Busy, whose technical advices rectified the whole piece. Thanks go also to Velesoft for his ideas and testing. Last, but not least I would like to thank also to me, for getting the idea, and keeping up the whole project:-). Belive me, that even though I have not coded a single line, thinking over, testing, communication with the author took up many hours. I must confess, I am hugely happy, that dreams were successfuly remelted into reality, and that thanks to Eugene we have brought the work till this point.

Despite being likely close to the prosperous end, some pugins' features are still waiting to be precised or refined.

The release remains a beta version. In no phase of testing whatsoever I have lost any data in MBD or TAP just by using the plugins. This does not imply, that such a situation cannot happen to you, when testing I certainly could not have to face all possible situations. Beware of this, in case you work on some important things. Backup always!!!

 Go ahead, and test it, in case of any problems turn on me, not the author! Many of your possible questions may have already been discussed with the author and it would be his waste of time to answer all of these. He need time and energy to continue working on plugins. Thanks.

aktualizace: 27.04.2014- nové verze, další pluginy

 Nemůžu věřit, že pluginy jsou staré už 5 let. Od té doby se vyvinulo mnoho nových verzí a byly odstraněny chyby, na které jsme přišly.

Další změny, které se od té doby odehrály: Kdokoliv by chtěl, byť symbolicky, podpořit finančním příspěvkem autorovu snahu a perfektní servis, obraťte se na mě, prosím. Kromě dobrého pocitu bude vaše jméno jakožto dárce zveřejněno na tomto webu. Patří mu za jeho práci minimálně velký dík. Hood



04.09.2009 Jak to celé začalo?

Jednoho dne, někdy na začátku tohoto roku, už jsem to nevydržel a chtěl mít na PC trošku komfortnější práci se speccy soubory než jen přes dialogový řádek. Shlédl jsem se v pluginu pro Total Commander, který umí pracovat s TRD a SCL imagi. A protože byl můj sen mít toto i pro mbčko, kontaktoval jsem jednoho člověka jménem Eugene Larchenko a obyčejně jsem jej požádal, zda by to samé udělal pro MBčko. Slovo dalo slovo, po prvních nesmělých pokusech začalo opravdu vznikat dílo, které dnes zveřejňujeme. Kupodivu celých těch asi dvanáct měsíců se to táhlo a vylepšovalo, a hlavně se to s menšími či většími přestávkami udrželo při životě dodnes, projekt pokračuje, až to dospělo do stadia, kdy lze tento produkt směle používat a zveřejnit.

Proto tedy dnes předkládáme tento plugin do TC. Je to plugin, který rozšiřuje možnosti TC a umožní vám s imagi MBD a TAP pracovat jako s archivem. Cílem bylo utvořit uživatelsky příjemný program a nebýt omezení a chyb v TC, bylo by se to dokonale podařilo. Plugin umí procházet adresáře, mazat, přidávat soubory.

Současně s tímto pluginem bylo vhodné vytvořit i druhý plugin, ktery dělá to samé, ale je to plugin TAP. Tzn. otevře vám tapku, umožňuje mazat soubory, přidávat. Oba pluginy samozřejmě ctí 17 bajtovou hlavičkovou konvenci souboru, žádné informace se neztrácejí. Další podrobnější info o pluginech a jejich používání najdete na této stránce, zejména ve FAQ.

Bylo obrovské štěstí, že autor byl velmi ochotný ke spolupráci, a chtěl bych mu velmi poděkovat, jemu samozřejmě nejvíce. Jakékoliv finanční příspěvky na podporu vývoje pluginu jsou vítány. V tom případě mě kontaktujte. Další obrovský dík patří, komu jinému, než Busymu, který odbornými radami korigoval celou práci. Děkuji i Velesoftovi za připomínky a testování. V neposlední řadě děkuji i mě, že mě to napadlo, a že jsem celý projekt držel pohromadě:-). Věřte, že i když jsem nic neprogramoval, promýšlení, testování, komunikace s autorem zabrala hodiny práce. Jsem nesmírně šťasten, že nezůstalo pouze u snů a idejí, ale že se to díky Eugenovi podařilo dostat až sem.

I když jsme se patrně velmi přiblížili zdárnému konci, stále je potřeba několik vlastností dokončit či zlepšit.

Pořád se jedná o beta verzi. V žádné fázi testování od samého začátku, jsem používáním pluginu o data na MBD nebo TAP pluginu nepřišel. To ovšem neznamená, že tato situace nemůže nastat, při testování jsem nemusel jistě narazit na všechny možné situace. Pamatujte na to prosím, pokud budete pracovat na nějaké důležité věci. Zálohujte!!!.

 Prosím testujte a s jakýmikoliv problémy se obracejte na mě, nikoliv na autora! Spousty věcí, které byste možná připomínkovali jsme patrně již s autorem probrali a bylo by zbytečné jej zatěžovat již známými problémy. Potřebuje se teď soustředit na další práci na pluginech. Díky.
